About Our Practice for Treatment-Resistant Depression
We have been helping people face mental health challenges for over 25 years. Since opening our Ridgewood, NJ office in 1994, we have built a reputation for providing compassionate, high-quality care. Especially for treatment-resistant depression (TRD).
Our practice serves patients from all across the New York metropolitan area, including Bergen County, New Jersey; Rockland County, New York; the five boroughs of New York City; and elsewhere in the Tri-State region.
We view treatment as a collaborative process. Our clinicians will work with you to develop a care plan that addresses your individual needs and provides you access to the most effective, scientifically-proven therapies currently available.

Two board-certified psychiatrists (MDs) with over 50 years of combined clinical experience and certification in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and SPRAVATO™ S-Ketamine nasal spray.
A doctorate-level nurse practitioner (DNP) specializing in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment.
A masters-level psychotherapist (MPS) specializing in psychodynamic treatment and family therapy.
Two Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) trained in individual and couples psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
A TMS Technician trained to administer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation with the NeuroStar TMS system.

Our multi-pronged approach addresses the complex biological, relational, and psychological factors involved in treatment-resistant depression. We are the only psychiatrists in Bergen County, NJ providing both NeuroStar Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and SPRAVATO™ S-Ketamine nasal spray therapies.

David N. Rosenfeld, MD
Dr. Rosenfeld is a graduate of Williams College and the UMDNJ-Robert Woods Johnson Medical School. He completed his internship at Emory University in Atlanta and his psychiatric residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and Bergen Pines Hospital in Paramus, NJ. After residency, Dr. Rosenfeld served as Co-Chief of General Psychiatry and Associate Director of the Department of Psychiatry at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ.
Since 1994, Dr. Rosenfeld has been in private practice in Ridgewood, NJ. He is board-certified in Adult Psychiatry, with a focus on biological treatments of mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Rosenfeld has been named to “Best Doctors” lists in New York magazine, Inside New Jersey, and the Castle Connolly Guide to Top Doctors. He has also published articles on psychiatric topics in the Bergen Record, on KevinMD.com, and in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Outside the office, Dr. Rosenfeld enjoys ping pong, crossword puzzles, and time with his family.
T. Adrian Zisu, MD
Dr. Zisu is a graduate of the Carol Davila University of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania. He completed his general psychiatry residency and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. After post-graduate training, he earned board certification in General Adult Psychiatry, with sub-specialty certification in Geriatric Psychiatry. Dr. Zisu maintains privileges at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, where he served as Associate Director of the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Zisu joined the practice in 1997.
Since 2013, Dr. Zisu has treated over one hundred patients with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). He was among the first psychiatrists in the New York Metropolitan area to incorporate TMS into his practice, and is recognized as a leader in the field.
In addition to treating mood and anxiety disorders, Dr. Zisu works extensively with patients who have psychiatric complications of neurological conditions — such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and dementia. He has been named to the “Best Doctors” lists published by Inside New Jersey and the Castle Connolly Guide to Top Doctors. In his free time, Dr. Zisu is an avid reader, triathlete, and gourmand.
Fiorella Paradisi, MSN, DNP
Fiorella is a Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She trained at New York University before serving residency rotations at St. Luke’s, Bellevue, and Mount Sinai hospitals. Now affiliated with Columbia University as a clinical instructor, Fiorella is board-certified in child and adolescent psychiatry, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and forensic exams for sexual assault victims. She is also trained in the use of NeuroStar Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and SPRAVATO™ S-Ketamine nasal spray. Her clinical specialties include ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, insomnia, and schizophrenia. In her spare time, Fiorella enjoys tending to all the animals on her New Jersey therapy farm.
Livia McGinnis, MPS
A graduate of Syracuse University, Livia worked as an artist before becoming a psychotherapist. After training in expressive therapy at Pratt Institute and psychoanalysis at NPAP, she served as a counselor at the Alternatives to Domestic Violence Center in Hackensack, NJ. For the past 30 years, she has maintained a full-time private practice in Ridgewood, where she has helped hundreds of people cope with — and recover from — a wide range of mental health disorders. Outside of work, Livia pursues her passion for all the creative arts.
Craig Byers, LCSW
Craig is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of clinical experience in psychotherapy and crisis counseling. He earned BA and MA degrees from Seton Hall University and a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University. Craig is certified in Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy and serves as Coordinator of Crisis Intervention Services at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. He specializes in treating men with depression and relationship issues. Craig’s leisure activities include hiking and coaching his kids’ sports teams.
Carol Covelli, LCSW
Carol is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in anxiety disorders. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work, with honors, from Fordham University. Before going into private practice in New Jersey, she provided community mental healthcare in the Bronx. Carol’s therapeutic approach is eclectic, with elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and mindful awareness. She has Level I and Level II training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is a certified clinical supervisor. Carol’s personal interests include hiking, running, and spending time with friends and family.
Rozelle Foster, TMS Technician
Rozelle has been working in the field of mental health for two years. She is a NeuroStar certified TMS technician who also serves as the manager of a functional medicine practice. Supporting patients in their healing journey gives her great satisfaction. In addition to her work duties, she is currently studying medical administration. Rozelle, who once worked at a vineyard, enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her family.
Laura Martocci, Practice Manager
Laura earned her BA degree from the University of Bridgeport and spent the early part of her career in retail management. Since joining our practice in 1994, she has run every aspect of our business operations, from accounts receivable and insurance submissions to interior design and carpentry. In her spare time, Laura likes to garden and quilt.
Halle Abramson, Business Associate
Halle has a BS degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College and Certification as a Medical Ultrasound Technician. She has held various positions in healthcare, including radiology technician and a Labor and Delivery associate. When she is not at work, Halle enjoys watching reality shows and Hallmark channel specials.
